First Meeting complete!

Thanks to all of you who showed up yesterday, we decided as a team for our first mock debate to tackle the question of “Does white privilege exist in the USA”. Below are the categories and types of debates we will be working toward at competition. (we will talk more about these in the coming weeks). Our next meeting will be Wednesday Oct 18th 🙂

Middle School Resolutions

  • Policy (CX) – “Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its influence over K-12 education in the United States in one or more of the following areas: STEM programs, school lunches, student rights, funding allocation.”
  • Lincoln-Douglas (LD) – “Resolved: The United States ought to guarantee a right to education.

Original Oratory (OO)

Original oratory would be a 7-minute memorized speech for middle school and a 4-minute memorized speech for elementary of original content that is intended to persuade (i.e., you should recycle more).
